Events in National Apprenticeship Week

Below is a list of events taking place by organisations who are accredited with the Work Experience Quality Standard


LEEDS – Tuesday 10th – 9am-10.30am at West Yorkshire Playhouse Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UP

MANCHESTER – Thursday 12th -9-10.30am at Friends’ Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS

The event is focused on learner engagement for Apprenticeships; it is a breakfast morning with employer talks and employability. Rathbone would like to hear from employers offering Apprenticeshipswho would be happy to give carousel talks (small groups of approx. 8 each) to young people considering an Apprenticeship with regards to what they look for in a young person when recruiting an apprentice.

Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College

LONDON - Friday 20th March, 10am-2.30pm   

Apprenticeship Fair with support from Angie Bray, MP for Ealing Central and Acton, aimed at  16-18 year olds from local schools/colleges, job seekers of all ages and other interested members of the public. Thirty-two employers have signed up so far, including Asda, Amey, a number of West London councils, the Lloyds Banking Group, Buttercups Day Nursery, Lyric Theatre and Sky.

Wakefield Council

WAKEFIELD – Promotion throughout the week

Apprentices have been offered the chance to switch with another apprentice for the day and to shadow a staff member in a different work area.

To promote Apprenticeship vacancies, the council will use a display board in Wakefield One (council building) foyer with a representative from the team on 11th March, including ‘made by apprentices’ photos. There will be a recruitment drive in local press, the council website and local schools on 13th March.

Fair Train

NATIONAL – Business advice surgeries throughout the week.

Fair Train is hosting free telephone advice surgeries for the duration of National Apprenticeship Week on how to build your business through Apprenticeships. Please support us by passing this on to organisations who are thinking about offering Apprenticeships, or already offer multiple placements. We can support them to ensure high quality provision is at the heart of their offer. For more information, click here.
